Legacy NaviLink Vehicle Gateway Modules (VGMs) have reached end-of-life status and are no longer supported.

This guide explains how to distinguish legacy hardware from current models and details the steps required to transition to the new Bluetooth gateways.

ECM Gateways and Devices

Legacy NaviLink Gateway, Wiring, and Harness (No Longer Supported)

  • The legacy Navistream VGM is a hardwired ECM connection system that uses a legacy NaviLink gateway device. This device, along with its wiring and harness (shown below), has reached end-of-life and are no longer supported.

NaviLink3 Bluetooth Gateway (Current Supported Device)

  • The NaviLink3 Bluetooth gateway is the currently supported gateway. It uses a Bluetooth-enabled device (shown below) and a vehicle-specific cable to connect to the ECM via the appropriate telematics port.

Transition Process

If you are using a legacy device, please contact our Sales team at sales@stti.ca to enquire about the next steps to start the transition process to the new Bluetooth gateway device.

If you already have the new NaviLink3 device and are ready to install it, you must completely remove the old gateway, wiring, and harness first. Retaining the legacy device, and wiring will cause improper ECM data capture and connectivity issues, directly impacting driver logs and ELD compliance.

Once the legacy equipment is fully uninstalled, refer to the step-by-step installation guide below:
