When to use: If your Samsung Galaxy Tab-A (SM-T357W) device has "done dark" in the field after May 30th, 2020 and you're unable to view or see data coming from vehicles.
Connect your tablet to your computer using a USB Micro cable. This is a fairly standard smartphone charging cable.
Download the attached file: navistream-repair-tab-a-cert.zip
Right-click the downloaded zip file and select the option “Extract all...”
Ensure the checkbox for “Show extracted files when complete” is checked on the next window, then press “Extract” in the lower right-hand side.
Double-click the file named “repair” or “repair.bat”
Depending on your version of Windows, you may get a variety of different security messages that come up. The file that you’re running is safe. Say yes to any prompts asking if the program is safe to run. If you get a blue “Windows protected your PC” message, press “More Info” to get a button that says “Run Anyway”.
A black window will pop on your screen and some tasks will be performed automatically. Once the operation is finished the black window will close and the tablet will need to be restarted.
If the above process does not begin immediately, check your tablet for a prompt. You may have a screen that says “Allow USB Debugging” at the top. Press OK on this window to continue.
At this point you're free to disconnect the tablet from the PC.
After restarting the tablet, any data stored should begin to flow back to our back-end servers. Please give each tablet 24-48 hours time to catch up (and potentially longer if the tablet was used for a long time before this repair was completed) and make sure the tablet remains powered on and plugged into an AC power source to avoid interruption.
Please contact Navistream support for questions or help with this process.
